Me

As a Human of earth and artist, I am inspired by the natural world and the beauty that surrounds us. Being a fifth generation member of a family deeply rooted in Yosemite National Park, and a life long resident of the Lake Tahoe region my connection to the earth is strong and profound. My upbringing has instilled in me a moral code of treating others as I would like to be treated.  This philosophy shows in my life as well as my work.

While I have pursued a diverse range of trades throughout my life, art has always been a constant and integral part of my being. Raised in an artistic home, I have been honing my craft from a young age and have since been exploring different forms of artistic expression.

Through my diverse forms of sculpture, I aim to convey my passions for the environment and all life, and spread that sentiment. I believe that art has the power to inspire change and create a lasting impact, and I am committed to using my talents and platform to make a difference in the world. In the end, my ultimate goal is to create art that resonates with people, speaks to their hearts, and inspires them.

A lifetime of ART

Starting as a toddler, Cody was exposed to art at home. His dad was a professional artist his entire life. He was encouraged by his father to experiment and practice in different mediums. By the age of 16 Cody received an offer for his first commission piece. Borial ski resort hired him to create a life-size snowboarder for their lodge. Throughout that time in life and through high school he thrived in art and drawing classes as well as sculpture and ceramics. While at Butte and Sierra Nevada College he studied graphic design,  general art and art history, anatomical figure drawing and different mediums of sculpture. Cody then went on to intern at a sculpture studio; TASCO, under Todd Andrews. A multi medium shop specializing in high profile public sculptures. Since his formal education Cody has worked as a lead fabricator, parasail boat captain, heavy equipment operator,  manager of operations for a state wide company, he has spent over a decade remodeling and flipping homes, as well as 15+ years of engineering and the actual build out of industrial automated warehouse and greenhouse systems. He is also a sports enthusiast who still loves getting out into nature to reconnect with earth, nature, animals and to help maintain his health and vitality.
